Senator Glenn S. Anderson was elected to the Michigan State Senate in November 2006 to serve the people of Garden City, Livonia, Redford Township, and Westland. Glenn serves on the Senate Appropriations Committee, and the Appropriation Subcommittees of Economic Development, Transportation, Higher Education and General Government.

Before entering the Senate, Glenn served in the Michigan House of Representatives for six years as State Representative for the 18th District, and served on the Westland City Council for nine years prior to that.

In 2006, Glenn was the only candidate to defeat a Republican incumbent and has maintained strong grassroots support in the district. His leadership, passion and work ethic on the campaign trail and in the Legislature drew the attention of his Senate colleagues, who elected him as the Assistant Democratic Floor Leader for the Caucus. Anderson also served as the Democratic Caucus Chair for 2003-2004 during his time in the House.
